Introduction

 

Well here we go again, another adventure to distant places full of excitement, adventure, bright lights, white knuckles, hangovers and jet lag.

For those of you that don't know my friends Roger and Penny, who live in Cairns, and are also known as Flashy and Lady P have a daughter Joanne, also known as Jo, who turns 30 this year on the 30th of July.  Some time ago Jo mentioned that for her 30th birthday celebrations she would like to go to Las Vegas.  This was discussed, possibly over drinks, and was left fermenting on a back burner somewhere until earlier this year when Jo confirmed "its on".  And as history has a habit of repeating itself what started out as a few days in Vegas has developed into a full blown trip to the good ol US of A.

(Some of you might remember Flashy as my travelling companion on the interesting and educational Battlefields and Burgundy tour to Europe in 2012).

There are a number of people converging on Vegas for the 30th including various relatives, friends and hangers on.  After the birthday celebrations various groups are splitting off and heading away on their own itineraries.  I will be away for four weeks and my adventures will be described in exciting and colourful detail as the trip evolves.  The blog name might give you a hint as to one of my destinations (apart from Vegas of course).

There will be only one rule for my blog, there will be no food photos.  (Except of course if I happen to see any carrots or parsnips amusingly shaped like a part of the human anatomy).
